Orifice scrubbers are also known as entrainment or self-induced spray scrubbers. Orifice Scrubber is an industrial air scrubbing system that is used to purify the dust laden air that are emitted during the industrial processes. This Orifice scrubber is a wet scrubbing system and is suitable for air pollution control and emission control.
It forces the dust laden air to pass over the surface of scrubbing liquid while it enters an orifice. Because of high velocity of this scrubber the liquid from the pool gets en-trained as droplets in the gas stream. With the increase in velocity & turbulence, the interaction between the liquid droplets and the particulate matter also increases. These particulate matter and the droplets are then removed from the gas stream.
